About the Family

A warm and dynamic family is seeking a Nanny-Governess or Manny-Governor to provide structure, guidance, and support for their three children (G13, B11, and B8). As the children are homeschooled, the role requires someone who can create a supportive learning environment, fostering independence and personal growth. The ideal candidate is confident yet nurturing, highly organised, and adaptable, able to balance education, daily routines, and life skills coaching.

The family resides in the Cayman Islands and regularly travels to Paris, so the role requires someone comfortable with international travel, cultural adaptability, and maintaining routines in different environments.

Key Responsibilities

A core part of this role involves homeschool supervision—ensuring the children stay on track with their lessons, liaising with teachers, and keeping parents informed about progress and any concerns. The ideal candidate will create a positive learning environment, promoting curiosity and engagement.

Encouraging independence is key. The nanny-governess or manny-governor will guide the children in managing their daily responsibilities, such as packing their belongings, organising their schoolwork, and preparing for activities. Rather than doing everything for them, the candidate will provide support that fosters self-sufficiency. 

Another key responsibility is providing homework assistance. This supports the children in their studies and keeps them engaged and motivated. Whether reinforcing concepts or introducing creative learning techniques, the goal is to make learning enjoyable and effective.

Using a positive approach, the nanny-governess or manny-governor will gently guide and support as needed, promoting motivation, accountability, and self-awareness. The focus will be on nurturing confidence and a love for learning.

The role also encompasses the development of social and life skills, such as teaching good manners, respect, and boundaries in a warm, engaging manner, while consistently serving as a positive role model for the children. 

Maintaining daily structure and scheduling is essential for ensuring a well-organised routine that provides stability while allowing flexibility. This includes coordinating learning, play, and rest to create a balanced and fulfilling day.

Beyond learning, the ideal candidate will assist in after-school care and evening routines, helping transport the children to extracurricular activities (alongside mum) and ensuring a smooth transition from active play to a relaxing evening wind-down and bedtime routine.

The nanny-governess or manny-governor will also take the lead in the children's scheduling, working closely with mum to ensure seamless coordination of daily activities. This includes structuring the children’s day and adjusting plans as needed.

Given the family’s international lifestyle, the nanny-governess must be comfortable with frequent travel. Trips typically last several weeks, and part of the role involves maintaining consistent routines and helping the children adjust smoothly to new environments.

Lastly, as the household includes pets, the candidate should be comfortable around the family’s dog and two cats.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The perfect candidate for this role is someone who is highly organised and proactive, able to anticipate needs and efficiently manage schedules. They should be adaptable and thrive in a dynamic environment that involves international travel and cultural shifts.

They should possess a nurturing and encouraging approach, creating a warm and engaging atmosphere where children feel supported and empowered to develop their independence. A background in education, psychology, or Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is highly preferred, as the role involves guiding children in both their academic progress and personal development.

Flexibility is key, as the role requires adjusting to different time zones, locations, and daily routines. A calm and engaging presence will help maintain a structured yet adaptable environment, making learning and daily tasks enjoyable and stress-free.

Being bilingual (English and an additional language) is an advantage, as it enhances communication and cultural exposure for the children. While driving skills are preferred, the ability to coordinate schedules and manage responsibilities effectively is essential to ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities.
