About the Role
An adventurous, open-minded family near Sintra, Portugal, is seeking a gentle, fun-loving, and creative nanny/governess to care for their three boys, ages 3, 6, and 9. The family embraces a gentle and playful approach to parenting, with both parents working from home and remaining deeply involved in their children’s lives. The family follows a hybrid homeschooling/unschooling model and prioritises a health-conscious, alternative lifestyle. They are looking for a long-term partner who can grow with them and support their journey as an extension of their parenting. Please note the parents are only interested in seeing candidates with experience in some alternative path (forest school, Waldorf, Montessori, etc.) and show a track record working in a domestic childcare environment.
This position is ideal for someone who values nature, has a flexible yet intentional approach, and is committed to providing a nurturing, educational, and joyful environment for the children.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Attune to the children’s needs, supporting growth and development.
- Design engaging, interest-led activities and projects (arts, crafts, nature exploration).
- Guide children’s educational goals in line with their curiosity and interests.
- Ensure plenty of outdoor time, fostering a love for nature and hands-on learning.
- Prepare snacks that align with the family’s grain- and sugar-free diet.
- Organize children’s spaces, pack for activities, and manage daily schedules and logistics.
- Assist in transporting children as needed (driving preferred).
- Support swimming and pool safety (swimming skills preferred).
Language: English-speaking is essential; Portuguese or Spanish is a bonus.
Non-smoker preferred.
Salary: Flexible for the right candidate.
